Where It Started: Betta Home Living in Narrogin, Northam & Katanning
Before Osprey Tech existed, most of the groundwork was laid on the shop floor at Betta Home Living — across three of its regional Western Australian stores in Narrogin, Northam, and Katanning. Selling and servicing everything from fridges and washing machines to TVs and home computers meant learning, fast, how to explain a technical problem to someone who just wanted their appliance working again.
Regional retail teaches a different kind of troubleshooting: no head office down the hall, no second technician to hand a hard case to. If a customer's washing machine wouldn't spin or their new TV wouldn't pair with their soundbar, working it out on the spot — and explaining it in plain language — was the job.
That's really where the "straight answers, no upselling" approach that Osprey Tech runs on today comes from. Country towns like Narrogin, Northam, and Katanning run on trust between local businesses and the people who use them — and that's the standard every job still gets held to.
